In July 2018, Iowa State University was competitively selected by two national organizations, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) to host the National Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education (NIAMRRE).
NIAMRRE provides local, national and international leadership in combating antimicrobial resistance and drives collaborative and integrative research, education, and engagement to solve antimicrobial resistance (AMR) challenges and benefit society using a One Health approach (health of animals, humans, and the environment).
