The Digital Agriculture Innovation Lab (www.isudigitalag.org) at Iowa State University is looking for a Research & Development Engineer I to join our dynamic team. This position involves contributing to innovative research and development activities within a team, with a focus on advanced machinery engineering and control systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team on research and development projects related to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of automated ag machinery.
- Assist with technical components of engineering projects, including the development of engineering control software, implementation of model-based software development, and development and execution of field testing of ag machinery.
- Plan and design the construction, installation, and operating protocols for moderate to complex engineering system test programs under the guidance of the team lead. Including the integration of software, electrical, sensing, mechanical, and fluid power systems
- Integrate and analyze data from various sensors and hardware. Perform data analysis to identify trends, adapt software, and optimize project outcomes.
- Summarize project results and effectively communicate outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
- Operate agricultural equipment and machinery safely and effectively, applying best practices and safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure smooth operation.
