AMES, Iowa (November 5, 2018) – Established as one of Iowa’s largest entrepreneurial conferences, the Young Entrepreneur Convention will be held in Ames, Iowa April 26-27, 2019. This marks the first year the convention, which draws nearly 500 young entrepreneurs annually, will be held in Ames.
The event will be hosted at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center and tickets will be $99.
In its first three years, the Young Entrepreneur Convention has drawn nearly 1,500 entrepreneurs to central Iowa. The majority of attendees are college students looking to gain inspiration, insight on building companies and an opportunity to network with others that share their passion for startups. The goal, according to event co-founder Clayton Mooney, is to continue to deliver value to attendees in 2019.
“Over the course of four years, we have developed a formula that delivers a valuable experience at an attractive price point,” Mooney says. “In moving the convention to Ames, we are focusing on making it easier for more college-aged attendees to join us. At the same time, we are developing a speaker lineup that is going to be attractive to entrepreneurs across the spectrum in regard to age, interest area and level of their involvement in the technology startup ecosystem.”
The event will feature an opening keynote and social the evening of Friday, April 26, and a full day of programming on Saturday, April 27. In addition to multiple keynotes, Saturday will include a panel discussion, exhibitors, time set aside specifically for networking, and the largest Elevator Pitch Competition in the United States.
“We have developed a reputation for bringing people together in an environment that is welcoming and focused on collaboration,” says YEC co-founder Andrew Zalasky. “Each year, there have been a handful of stories about companies that were launched or partnerships that were formed as a direct result of us hosting this event. That is why we do it.”
For more information about the upcoming event, Zalasky says to follow on social media by searching “Young Entrepreneur Convention” or visit yeconvention.com. Speaker announcements will be made in the weeks to come and tickets will go on sale after the first of the year.
“We are working on a great lineup of speakers,” Mooney says. “And we are excited to host this event in the middle of one of the fastest growing startup ecosystems in the country right now.”
