AMES, Iowa (June 28, 2021) –Iowa State University Office of Economic Development and Industry Relations today announced Patrick Klepcyk as the Director, Office of Innovation Commercialization (OIC) and President of the Iowa State Research Foundation (ISURF). Klepcyk was hired following a national search, and replaces interim director Dana Rewoldt who has been the interim director role since August, 2019.
Klepcyk comes to Iowa State from the University of Virginia Licensing and Ventures team where he served as director of licensing since 2016. Prior to his director role, he served there from 2012-2016 as associate director and senior licensing manager. He has extensive experience in technology transfer with a number of world class organizations including Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic, GlaxoSmithKline, and the National University of Singapore. He also has deep international experience, having worked in Cleveland, Shanghai and Singapore before moving to Virginia.
